Wike Asserts PDP's Strength Ahead of National Convention

Nyesom Wike, a prominent member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), declared that the party is in control and will negotiate from a position of strength. This statement follows a Federal High Court ruling in Ibadan, Oyo State, which upheld the current national caretaker committee leadership structure.

Wike emphasized the importance of genuine reconciliation within the party, stating that any negotiations should be transparent and not conducted in secrecy. He dismissed accusations that the APC-led administration had infiltrated the PDP, asserting that the party would not accept suggestions to form a new caretaker committee.

Wike's remarks were supported by Abba Moro, the Senate Minority Leader, who acknowledged Wike's crucial role in the party and called for unity. Kingsley Chinda, the House Minority Leader, described the court ruling as a lifeline for the party's future and urged members to prioritize the party's survival over personal ambitions.

The PDP is preparing for its national convention scheduled for November 15-16, 2025.
