Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro Elected New PENGASSAN President

Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro has been elected unopposed as the National President of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) at the association’s first Quadrennial Delegates Conference held in Abuja on Saturday. He succeeds Festus Osifo, who is the President of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC).

Olabiyi-Agoro, a distinguished petroleum engineer and labour leader, has over two decades of experience in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry and currently serves with the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC). His previous roles include National Financial Secretary of PENGASSAN from 2022 to 2023, National Auditor from 2020 to 2022, and Chairman of the Baker Hughes PENGASSAN Branch from 2016 to 2020.

He holds a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Aberdeen, a Post Graduate Certificate in Computing from London Metropolitan University, and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical Engineering from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. In his acceptance speech, he promised to prioritize workers’ welfare and continue the legacies of his predecessor.
