PENGASSAN Orders Shutdown of Dangote Refinery Supply Amid Alleged Sabotage

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has ordered the shutdown of crude and gas supply to the Dangote Refinery. The directive, signed by General Secretary Lumumba Okugbawa, was in response to alleged sabotage by the refinery's staff.

PENGASSAN claims that the refinery targeted 800 Nigerian workers who joined the association voluntarily, citing unfair labor practices by the management. The union instructed its members to cut off gas supply to the refinery without delay.

Dangote Refinery denied any link between the shutdown and unionization. The move has raised concerns about the impact on Nigeria's oil and gas sector.
