PENGASSAN Women Push for Stronger Workplace Protections

During the 114th session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland, Mari Ann Ada Mbanaso, Chairperson of the PENGASSAN Women Commission, expressed high expectations for discussions aimed at strengthening workplace protection laws for women. She emphasized the need for collaboration among PENGASSAN, women's commissions, and sister organizations across Africa to enhance social justice and decent work for both men and women.

Mbanaso highlighted the commission's ongoing advocacy against abuse and harassment in the workplace. She also mentioned that this year's conference would focus on significant global issues, including the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on labor.

The PENGASSAN Women Commission is committed to embracing innovation while ensuring that the rights and needs of women workers are adequately addressed.
