Pensioners Challenge PTAD Over Dues Diversion Allegations

On Wednesday, the Federal Parastatal Pension Association of Nigeria (FEPPPAN) announced a confrontation with the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) due to allegations of diversion of statutory check-off dues. FEPPPAN claims that PTAD is deliberately strangling the union by withholding and diverting these dues, which are essential for the union's operations.

The association has called for urgent intervention from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Federal Ministry of Justice, and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment to compel PTAD to comply with the law regarding the remittance of dues. FEPPPAN, represented by President General Benjamin Amakko and General Secretary Franklin Erinl, warned that the situation is reaching a breaking point and that PTAD's continued disregard for the law could escalate tensions.

The union represents thousands of pensioners across Nigeria and has expressed frustration over PTAD's bureaucratic obstacles that hinder financial resources necessary for effective operation.
