Study Warns of Colorectal Cancer Risk for Young Adults with Rectal Bleeding

A recent study has revealed that young adults experiencing rectal bleeding face a higher risk of developing colorectal cancer (CRC). The study, presented at the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress 2025, emphasized the importance of taking rectal bleeding symptoms seriously, even without a family history of CRC.

Factors like diet, alcohol consumption, smoking, and obesity contribute to the disease. The study analyzed 443 patients, with 195 diagnosed with CRC, highlighting the need for doctors to consider colonoscopies for young patients with rectal bleeding symptoms.
