Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie spoke about the viral controversy surrounding his greeting with the Ooni of Ife during an interview on Isbae U's program, *Curiosity Made Me Ask*. Edochie explained that the encounter occurred after KOK pointed out the Ooni's presence at an event.

As he approached the monarch, the Ooni acknowledged him with a raised hand, which Edochie described as a gesture of mutual familiarity. He defended the specific handshake, stating it is reserved for individuals of high title and standing.

Edochie clarified that his relationship with the Ooni predates the viral moment, having first met at Okija, where he was formally introduced. He later encountered the Ooni again in Lagos, reinforcing their familiarity.

Edochie acknowledged public interpretations of the moment but stood by his actions, asserting, "You are entitled to look at it however you want; it's your entitlement.".
