Davido's Associate Ego Dies After Cosmetic Surgery in Thailand

Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, known as Ego, a Nigerian-British businessman and associate of singer Davido, died in Thailand following complications from a penis enlargement procedure. The procedure, which involved injecting 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine, took place in March 2026 while Ego was on vacation with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen.

After experiencing chest pain at a Marriott hotel in Bangkok, he was rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital but lost consciousness before a CT scan could be performed. Doctors later determined he suffered a pulmonary embolism and performed CPR for over 100 minutes, but he died in the early hours of March 6.

A postmortem examination in the UK found cellular material in his lungs matching the hyaluronic acid used in the procedure. Coroner Jean Harkin ruled that Ego's death was caused by the cosmetic procedure.

At his funeral, Davido described Ego's death as “heavy,” and socialite Cubana Chief Priest paid tribute to him.
