Babachir Lawal Critiques Peter Obi's Loyalty to ADC

Babachir Lawal, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, criticized Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, for his perceived shifty nature following Obi's departure from the ADC to the Labour Party. In an interview, Lawal expressed that the ADC never felt Obi's commitment, stating that despite efforts to accommodate him, there remained uncertainty about his loyalty.

He emphasized that Obi's exit was driven by a toxic political climate and legal disputes within the coalition. Lawal downplayed the political impact of Obi's move, suggesting it would not necessarily translate into electoral advantages for the Labour Party.

He reaffirmed the ADC's commitment to building a long-term ideological platform rather than pursuing short-term political gains, urging members to focus on the party's longevity.
