Peter Obi Visits Benue for Humanitarian Reasons

Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), visited Benue State to express condolences and solidarity with victims following a violent attack on his convoy as he entered the state. After the incident, Obi clarified that his visit was not campaign-related but strictly humanitarian, stating, “I am in Benue today not for campaigns.

I only wanted to go to a place where people lost their lives, to condole and show solidarity with them.” He criticized the current state of Nigerian politics, highlighting its degeneration. During a previous event, while supporting the APM candidate in launching his office, Obi urged for a shift towards a politics of unity, appealing to the public to foster a more collaborative political environment in the future.
