Peter Obi Urges Stronger Action Against Insecurity in Benue

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), visited Otukpo-Nobi and Efeyi-Ugboju communities in Benue State, where recent attacks and kidnappings have resulted in significant casualties. During his visit, he reported that over 10 people were killed or declared missing in Otukpo-Nobi, with several others injured and receiving medical treatment.

In Efeyi-Ugboju, he noted that more than 13 individuals were reportedly killed, and 14 people were kidnapped along Ankpechi Road earlier that morning. Obi participated in prayers for the deceased at a mass burial site and visited injured victims in hospitals, expressing sympathy and wishing them a speedy recovery.

He called on the Federal Government to take stronger action against insecurity, highlighting the government's fundamental responsibility to protect citizens and address the vulnerabilities that allow non-state actors to carry out attacks. Obi extended condolences to the families of the victims and emphasized the urgent need for enhanced security measures in affected communities.
