Sowore Labels Obi and Datti as Military Apologists

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), accused Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Datti Baba-Ahmed of the Nigeria Democratic Congress of being military apologists during an interview on ARISE Television on Tuesday. Sowore claimed that their ties to former military leaders raise questions about their political integrity, labeling them as "Abacha's boys." He recounted his experience at a peace agreement signing event in 2023, where he observed Datti Baba-Ahmed referring to President Bola Tinubu as "Uncle" and displaying a level of deference that contradicted their public criticisms of him.

Sowore noted that after the event, he left without greeting Tinubu, while other candidates, including Peter Obi, queued to shake hands with the president, suggesting a disconnect between their public personas and private interactions.
