Sowore Challenges Datti on Obi's Competence in Politics

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has publicly criticized Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the former vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), for his remarks about Peter Obi. Datti stated that none of President Bola Tinubu’s challengers, including Obi, possess the capability to transform Nigeria.

In response, Sowore challenged Datti, questioning why he would present Obi as a candidate if he believed Obi was incompetent. Sowore emphasized that the popularity of Obi among the youth during the 2023 elections does not necessarily indicate his competence, urging voters to scrutinize how Obi was marketed to the public.

He expressed concern that the packaging of candidates could mislead the electorate, suggesting that the perception of Obi as a viable candidate was based on misleading narratives. Sowore's comments reflect a broader discussion about the qualifications and effectiveness of political candidates in Nigeria.
