Sowore Criticizes DSS for Discriminatory Treatment

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), publicly criticized the Department of State Services (DSS) for what he described as belittling treatment during the Peace Accord signing event ahead of the 2027 general elections. Sowore expressed his frustration on his verified X handle, stating that it is common for Nigeria's security agencies to look down on individuals who do not arrive in lavish convoys.

He recounted an incident where he was blocked at the gate by DSS operatives who demanded to see his invitation letter, despite one admitting he recognized Sowore as a presidential candidate. He faced additional restrictions, including being denied entry with his staff and camera crew.

Sowore emphasized that all presidential candidates should be treated with equal dignity and respect, regardless of their display of privilege or the size of their security entourage. He firmly rejected the discriminatory treatment he experienced at the event.
