He urged the Kano State Government and relevant security agencies to conduct a "thorough, transparent, and impartial investigation" into the killing and to ensure accountability for those responsible. Obi highlighted the constitutional guarantee of free speech in Nigeria, asserting that every citizen has the fundamental right to freedom of expression, which must be protected regardless of differing beliefs.
