Opara Urges Kwankwaso to Support Obi for 2027 Election

During an interview on Arise News on Tuesday, Opara, an activist lawyer, called on former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso to set aside personal ambitions and support Peter Obi, the African Democratic Congress chieftain, as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election. Opara argued that such an alliance would strengthen the opposition against President Bola Tinubu and enhance their chances of defeating the ruling party.

He highlighted that Obi has demonstrated the necessary leadership qualities to govern Nigeria effectively. Opara also criticized the current political landscape, suggesting that presenting a northern presidential candidate against Tinubu, who is seeking a second term, may not be politically viable.

He maintained that Obi stands a stronger chance of winning, even if the opposition decides to field a northern candidate.
