Obi Urges Government Action After Benue Attacks

Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress 2027 presidential candidate, visited the Otukpo-Nobi and Efeyi-Ugboju communities in Otukpo Local Government Area, Benue State, following recent violent attacks that resulted in numerous casualties. Obi reported that over 10 people were either killed or went missing in Otukpo-Nobi, while more than 13 were reportedly killed in Efeyi-Ugboju.

Additionally, he noted that 14 individuals were kidnapped along Ankpechi Road. During his visit, Obi participated in a mass burial for the victims and visited the injured in the hospital, expressing his condolences and support.

He urged the Federal Government to take stronger actions to secure lives and property, stating that the primary duty of government is the security and welfare of its citizens. Obi's visit comes amidst ongoing insecurity in the region, with police confirming that five of the kidnapped victims were rescued while nine remained in captivity.
