Fayose: Obi's ADC Exit Hurts 2027 Presidential Bid

Ayodele Fayose, the former Governor of Ekiti State, commented on Peter Obi's exit from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating it has diminished Obi's prospects for the 2027 presidential election. During an interview on TVC News, Fayose asserted that Obi and other opposition figures would have been in a stronger position against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had they remained united within the ADC.

He remarked, “The day Obi left ADC for NDC, that day Obi lost.” Fayose praised Obi as a significant figure in Nigerian politics but warned that the ongoing division among opposition parties would hinder their chances in the upcoming elections. He noted that it is now too late for the opposition to change their decisions, as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has already accredited candidates.

Fayose also discussed President Bola Tinubu's prospects, predicting he could garner around four million votes in the South-West, based on previous voting patterns.
