ADC Warns Tinubu Over Rising Petrol Prices and Hardship

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) issued a warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding the economic policies of his administration, stating that they are pushing Nigerians "dangerously close to the limits of human endurance." The ADC's statement, signed by National Publicity Secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, highlighted that petrol prices have surged to N1,470 per litre, making daily expenses unaffordable for many. The party noted that this increase has led to higher costs for food, transportation, and education, with private schools raising fees by 30 to 40 percent while salaries have not increased correspondingly.

The ADC criticized the government for demanding more sacrifices from citizens while public officials live extravagantly. They described the situation as a "Tinubu Tax," asserting that families are skipping meals and withdrawing children from school due to financial strain.

The ADC called for a reevaluation of economic policies, stating that the upcoming 2027 election would offer Nigerians a choice between enduring current hardships or supporting ADC's proposed relief program led by presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
