Atiku Calls for Probe into N400m Bribery Allegations

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, has demanded an independent investigation into allegations of a N400 million bribery claim associated with the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC). In a statement issued by his media office in Abuja on Thursday, Atiku questioned the legitimacy of the PFIPC, describing it as a "ghost agency" that operates without proper oversight.

He highlighted concerns raised by Adeniyi Adeyemi regarding the agency's alleged operations from the Federal Secretariat without detection. The statement also noted that the PFIPC reportedly secured a budget allocation of N1.3 billion in the 2026 national budget.

Atiku's media office criticized the government's response, particularly Femi Gbajabiamila's, for failing to adequately address the bribery allegations. The statement emphasized the need for transparency and accountability, especially in light of the upcoming 2027 general elections, to maintain public trust and prevent voter apathy.
