Atiku Abubakar Demands Independent Probe into Tinubu Scandal

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President and candidate of the African Democratic Congress, has rejected the investigation by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) into allegations surrounding President Bola Tinubu. He is advocating for an independent panel to investigate the matter, claiming that the current probe lacks transparency and credibility.

Atiku argues that Tinubu's directive to the ICPC contradicts earlier statements that the police had already conducted a thorough investigation. He points out that the ICPC is expected to spend 30 days on an investigation that he believes is unnecessary, as the police had previously established the facts.

Atiku emphasizes that the Nigerian public deserves answers and that the investigation should not be delayed. He also raises concerns about the legitimacy of the investigation, citing the arrest of a principal suspect and questioning the adequacy of the government's response to the allegations.
