Falana Calls for Investigation into PFIPC Allegations

Femi Falana, a senior advocate in Nigeria, expressed serious concerns regarding the operations of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), which he claims has led to unprecedented ridicule for the country. Speaking on a current affairs program, Falana urged the government to provide a clear explanation regarding the council's existence and its financial dealings, particularly its ability to open an account with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) without a legal foundation.

He emphasized that the council was allegedly not created by law and questioned its inclusion in the national budget. Falana called for an independent investigation into the matter, suggesting that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, should temporarily step aside to allow for a thorough inquiry.

He argued that the government must restore public confidence by addressing the controversy transparently, warning that failure to do so would further undermine trust in public institutions.
