PFN Announces Nationwide Fast for Peace and Stability

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has declared a three-day nationwide fast scheduled from May 22 to May 24, 2026, in response to increasing insecurity and economic hardship in Nigeria, particularly as the nation approaches the 2027 elections. This decision was disclosed in a statement by Sylvanus Ukafia, the PFN National Public Secretary, following a meeting of the fellowship's National Executive Council.

The council emphasized the need for extensive prayer and the church's role in interceding for the nation during this critical time. The PFN expressed deep concern over persistent violence, attacks on places of worship, and the resulting economic difficulties affecting millions of Nigerians.

The fast coincides with the observance of Global Pentecost Day, anchored in biblical instruction from 2 Chronicles 7:14, calling believers to humble themselves and seek God's intervention. The program encourages nationwide participation from churches and local assemblies, culminating in prayer gatherings on May 24, 2026, to restore peace, security, and economic relief in Nigeria.
