Peter Obi Meets Swiss Ambassador to Discuss Development

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), met with Patrick Egloff, the Swiss Ambassador to Nigeria, to discuss strengthening development partnerships aimed at advancing Nigeria’s growth. The discussions, which Obi described as productive, focused on critical sectors such as education, healthcare, and poverty reduction.

Obi expressed appreciation for the Swiss Confederation's ongoing support in economic development, culture, humanitarian assistance, and peace-building efforts in the North-East region of Nigeria. He emphasized the need for stronger international partnerships based on shared values to create a more prosperous and inclusive Nigeria.

This meeting occurred shortly after Obi participated in a roundtable discussion organized by the European Council on Foreign Relations, which addressed Nigeria's future beyond the 2027 general election. The discussions included topics on Nigeria’s democratic journey, development cooperation, and enhancing bilateral partnerships to accelerate economic growth and improve citizens' lives, particularly focusing on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.
