Peter Obi Attends Ikorodu City’s 2-0 Victory in Lagos

On Sunday, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, attended a Nigeria Premier Football League match at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos. The match featured Ikorodu City FC facing off against Enugu Rangers International FC, with Ikorodu City securing a 2-0 victory.

Obi was seen in the stands alongside Sanmi Doherty, the President of Ikorodu City FC. The match saw Ikorodu City take the lead in the eighth minute through Aderemi Adeoye, followed by a second goal from Ikechukwu Junior in the 63rd minute.

Videos shared on X by sports photojournalist Pooja Media captured Obi watching the game and interacting with fans, who approached him for photographs during halftime. Obi's attendance coincides with the ongoing preparations of the NDC for the 2027 general election, where he and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, have been authorized to nominate key officials for the party's Presidential Campaign Council.
