Physical planning laws for public good, not for victimization – Ogun Govt

The Ogun State government emphasized that physical planning laws are meant for the public good, not for victimization. The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, TPL Tunji Odunlami, stated this during a press conference in Abeokuta.

The ongoing exercise in Sagamu local government area aims to ensure compliance with development laws without victimizing citizens. Odunlami highlighted that the exercise is to verify permit status and types of developments, such as houses, schools, hospitals, and commercial buildings.

He stressed that the goal is not to harm individuals but to promote urban development in line with existing regulations. The government is urging property owners to approach the relevant authorities with the necessary documents to avoid enforcement notices.

Odunlami reiterated the state's commitment to enforcing physical planning laws for the public good.
