National Assembly Dismisses Petitions Against Tantita Security

On Wednesday, the Joint National Assembly Committee on Petroleum Resources dismissed three petitions against Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) concerning the award of a pipeline surveillance contract. The petitions primarily focused on allegations of contract centralization, demands for audits, cost-effectiveness concerns, and alleged human rights violations.

Ikenga Ugochinyere, Chairman of the House Committee on Petroleum Resources Downstream, stated that the petitions failed to present a defense and were unanimously dismissed. Henri Okoji, Chairman of the Petroleum Resources Committee Midstream, highlighted TSSNL's significant achievements in securing Nigeria's petroleum assets.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abba Tajudeen, emphasized the need for alternative energy sources amidst ongoing global conflicts. The country reportedly loses billions annually due to crude oil theft, which undermines national revenue.

Captain Warredi Enisuoh, Director of Technical Operations at Tantita, noted the deployment of advanced technology, including drones, to enhance daily crude production.
