UniJos Suspends Exams Following Violent Plateau Attack

The University of Jos (UniJos) has announced the suspension of exams scheduled for March 30 and 31, 2026, due to increased tensions following a violent attack in the Angwan Rukuba area of Plateau State. The attack occurred around 7:30 PM, where gunmen on motorcycles stormed the community, leading to several fatalities and injuries among residents.

In response to the incident, which has caused panic and unrest in the area, the university's Vice Chancellor directed that all examination activities be postponed and rescheduled accordingly. The Deputy Registrar issued a statement advising the university community to remain vigilant and exercise caution, particularly in movement off-campus.

Students and staff have been strongly advised to avoid early morning outings and to report any suspicious activities immediately. The university's security division is actively monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as necessary.
