University of Jos VC Confirms No Relocation Plans

In response to recent violent incidents in Anguwan Rukuba, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos, Prof. Ishaya, stated that there are no plans to relocate the university.

During a press conference, he addressed concerns about student safety after two students were confirmed killed and three others, including staff, were injured in the attacks. Prof.

Ishaya emphasized the university's commitment to building understanding with the local community and ensuring the safety of its students and staff. He reassured that the university would continue to work collaboratively with security agencies and community leaders to address emerging challenges.

He also mentioned that a viral video depicting chaos at the university's gate was misleading and aimed to create confusion. The Vice Chancellor highlighted the importance of maintaining the university's location for social and economic activities, as well as educational impacts, and reiterated that there are no plans to relocate the institution.
