Plateau Lawmaker Rejects 'Unknown Gunmen' Terminology

A member of the Plateau State House of Assembly representing Barkin Ladi constituency, during a visit to Heipang District, announced that the term "unknown gunmen" will no longer be used to describe recent violent attacks in the area. This statement follows a violent incident in Chollom, which left three individuals dead and several others injured, including Marvin Choji (23), Bitru Choji (24), Daniel Dung (59), and Stephen Davou (48), who are currently receiving medical treatment.

The lawmaker emphasized the need for security operations to arrest suspects connected to the attack and urged security agencies to ensure a thorough investigation. He called for public reassurance and transparency in the handling of the case, appealing to the Plateau State Commission of Justice to charge and prosecute those responsible diligently.

The lawmaker stressed that the residents of Barkin Ladi deserve justice and fair treatment in this matter.
