Bandits Kill Two Youths in Plateau State Attack

In a recent attack on the community of Iyan Garga in Kanam Local Government Area, Plateau State, armed bandits shot dead at least two youths and injured one on the evening of Monday. The victims, identified as Alhaji Usman and Muhammad Danladi, were shot during a sporadic gunfire incident that caused panic among residents, prompting them to flee.

The injured victim was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment. Local vigilant groups attempted to pursue the attackers, who escaped into the bush.

This incident adds to a series of violent attacks that have plagued the Kanam community in recent years, with residents recalling several attacks in 2023 and 2024 that have led to loss of lives and displacement of families. Community leaders have expressed ongoing concerns about the persistent security breaches in the area and have called on security agencies to intensify patrols and establish a permanent security post to deter further attacks.
