Plateau State Government Disburses N1.5bn to Attack Victims

The Plateau State Government has commenced the disbursement of N1.5 billion in humanitarian assistance to 1,579 victims of terrorist attacks across five local government areas. This includes N1 billion from Senator Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative and an additional N500 million from the state government.
The disbursement ceremony took place in Jos, overseen by Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, and Governor Caleb Mutfwang. Yilwatda emphasized the importance of the intervention for families affected by violence, urging beneficiaries to use the funds as seed capital for rebuilding their livelihoods.
Governor Mutfwang praised the First Lady for her significant contribution and assured that the government would ensure the assistance reached those genuinely affected. Dr Kachollom Pyam Gang, the Plateau State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, explained that the initiative aims to help vulnerable families restore their livelihoods and regain stability.
