24 Victims of Plateau Attack Buried Amid Protests

On Tuesday, the remains of 24 individuals killed during a violent attack in Plateau State were given a mass burial. The attack occurred on Monday night into the early hours of Tuesday, with armed assailants invading the community, shooting sporadically, and forcing many residents to flee.

Numerous individuals sustained injuries and were evacuated to hospitals. Protesting women, led by Mrs Ladi Joshua, expressed devastation over the loss of family members and called for urgent government intervention to protect their community.

Bulus Dabit, the National President of the Mwaghavul Development Association (MDA), stated that the attackers struck while victims were asleep. Eyewitness Daniel Musa described the attackers moving from house to house, resulting in over 20 confirmed deaths and several injuries.

Resident John Dalyop urged both state and federal governments to strengthen security in vulnerable areas. Victim Jonathan Isyaku recounted his narrow escape during the attack, attributing his survival to divine intervention.
