Tinubu Visits Plateau Attack Victims, Deploys Soldiers

President Bola Tinubu visited Plateau State following the violent attack on Palm Sunday in Angwan Rukuba District that resulted in 28 fatalities. During a town hall meeting at Yakubu Gowon Airport in Heipang, he announced the immediate deployment of 850 additional soldiers to reinforce security in the region.

Tinubu also ordered the installation of 5,000 surveillance cameras to assist law enforcement agencies in identifying troublemakers and preventing future violence. He expressed condolences to the victims' families, including a mother named Rhoda who lost her son, Ayuba, in the attack.

Tinubu emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring that such violence does not recur and pledged support to the victims. He also highlighted the importance of peace and prosperity in the state, urging the governor, Caleb Mutfwang, to foster inclusivity in governance.

The meeting included discussions on leveraging technology, with Dr. Bosun Tijani announcing plans to deploy artificial intelligence-enabled cameras to tackle persistent security challenges.
