Mutfwang Condemns Deadly Attack on Plateau Community

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang condemned the attack on Bin-mper community in Mangu Local Government Area, which occurred on the night of August 18, resulting in the deaths of 24 individuals, including women and children. During a condolence visit on Thursday, Mutfwang described the attack as barbaric and unacceptable, expressing deep pain over the incident and acknowledging the government's failure to protect the residents.

He stated, “As a government, we take responsibility for failing to protect you.” Mutfwang assured the community that his administration would enhance security measures to prevent further attacks and emphasized that the perpetrators would not take over their ancestral lands. He confirmed that police had arrested some suspects and promised to pursue the matter to its logical conclusion.

Mutfwang also visited the traditional ruler, Da. Putmang Hirse, and assured him of President Bola Tinubu’s support in efforts to end insurgency in Plateau.
