Plateau Government Eases Curfew in Jos North LGA

The Plateau State Government announced a partial relaxation of the 48-hour curfew previously imposed in Jos North Local Government Area (LGA) due to violent attacks in Angwan Rukuba. This decision was communicated on Tuesday by Rt.

Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap, the Commissioner for Information.

The curfew was initially imposed following the violent incidents that occurred last week. Effective from April 1, 2026, residents will be allowed to move freely between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM to enable the resumption of essential activities during these hours.

The government has urged citizens to remain calm and vigilant, emphasizing the need to abide by the law as security forces continue to monitor the area to prevent further disturbances. Ramnap commended the cooperation and resilience of residents during the heightened restrictions and reiterated the administration's commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
