Plateau State Eases Curfew in Jos After Violent Attacks

The Plateau State Government, represented by Rt. Hon.

Joyc Lohya Ramnap, announced the easing of a 48-hour curfew in Jos, which was initially imposed following violent attacks in the Angwan Rukuba area. The decision, communicated on Tuesday, was based on reports from security agencies indicating a return to calm in the community.

The curfew will now allow residents to move freely between 7 AM and 3 PM starting from April 1, 2026, enabling them to resume essential activities within the approved hours. The government has urged citizens to remain calm and vigilant, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the law as security personnel continue to monitor the situation to prevent any further breakdown of law and order.

Ramnap commended the resilience and cooperation of residents during the heightened restrictions and reaffirmed the administration's commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
