Plateau State Government Defends ₦10bn Travel Expenditure

The All Progressives Congress (ADC) has raised concerns regarding the Plateau State Government's reported expenditure of approximately ₦10.11 billion on travel and transportation-related expenses between January and June 2026. Silas Audu Wettok, the ADC's Publicity Secretary, demanded accountability, questioning the purpose and benefits of such spending.

In response, Joyce Ramnap, the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, clarified that the reported amount encompasses travel expenses across various sectors, including Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), and the judiciary, rather than solely the governor's travels. Ramnap emphasized the administration's commitment to transparency and responsible management of public resources.

She detailed that significant portions of the expenditure were related to the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, training-related travels, and scholarships for students to India. Governor Mutfwang undertook only three international trips during the specified period, all for official engagements.
