Plateau State Government Denies ₦10.11bn Travel Claims

The Plateau State government has denied allegations of spending ₦10.11 billion on foreign and local travel in the first six months of 2026. The government, through its Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap, clarified that this amount reflects aggregate expenditures across various sectors, including Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), and statutory personnel-related entitlements.

The administration of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang emphasizes the importance of training public servants to enhance institutional capacity. Major expenditures included costs related to the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, training for Plateau State University lecturers abroad, and scholarships for 200 students to India.

Governor Mutfwang undertook only three international trips during this period, with one significant visit to the United States for the Presidential Prayer Breakfast in January 2026. The government reiterated its commitment to transparency and responsible management of public resources.
