Jang Declares PDP's Control Over Plateau State Amid Crisis

David Jonah Jang, the former governor of Plateau State, has declared that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) continues to maintain control over the state, firmly rejecting claims made by a faction associated with Nyesom Wike. Jang's statements come in response to a growing leadership crisis within the party.

He affirmed that Chief Raymond Dabo is the duly recognized chairman of the PDP in Plateau State, following a congress held in October 2025. Jang criticized a separate congress held on March 17, which was aligned with Wike's faction, labeling it a "kangaroo congress" and questioning its legal legitimacy.

He stated that the PDP structure in Plateau remains intact and functional, despite recent developments. Jang urged party members to remain calm and united, expressing confidence that the ongoing leadership challenges at the national level would be resolved.

He emphasized that the PDP's state working committee is properly elected and operates under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
