FG Warns Against Misinformation After Plateau Killings

Following the tragic killing of twenty individuals in Plateau State, the Federal Government of Nigeria has issued a warning against the dissemination of unverified information that could exacerbate tensions. Minister Alhaji Mohd Idris addressed journalists in Abuja, urging citizens to remain calm and abide by the law while cooperating fully with security agencies.

The government is committed to taking necessary actions to ensure justice and prevent further violence. This warning comes after a high-level meeting led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with top security and intelligence chiefs to review the situation and determine further steps towards achieving lasting peace.

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang was also involved in discussions with President Tinubu to coordinate efforts for a peaceful resolution. The Federal Government has directed security agencies to identify and apprehend those responsible for the heinous acts, emphasizing that there will be no safe haven for criminal elements in Nigeria.
