Wase Condemns Plateau Killings, Urges Calm and Vigilance

On Wednesday, Wase expressed deep concern over the latest violent incidents in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North, where unidentified gunmen attacked residents on Sunday, March 29, 2026, leading to multiple deaths. He condemned the attacks, describing them as senseless and a direct threat to peace and harmony in Plateau State.

Wase highlighted the serious violence in recent months, including killings in Zurak, Sabon Gari, Bashar district, and ambushes in Kanam LGA, which resulted in the deaths of soldiers and civilians. He extended condolences to the victims' families and praised the swift response of security agencies and the Plateau State government, particularly Governor Caleb Mutfwang for imposing a curfew and initiating investigations.

Wase called for increased vigilance and sustained security efforts, urging law enforcement to identify and prosecute those responsible for the attacks. He appealed to community leaders to maintain calm and avoid retaliatory actions that could escalate tensions, emphasizing that dialogue and the rule of law are essential for building peace in Plateau State.
