Soldiers Fail to Protect Bokkos from Fulani Attackers

On April 9th, a woman from Bokkos, Plateau State, reported that soldiers stationed nearby failed to confront attackers during an assault by suspected Fulani militia in Mbwell Village, Kwata District. The woman lost eight family members, including her brother, his pregnant wife, and her father, during the attack.

She expressed her distress in a video shared on social media, stating that despite her frantic calls for help to the troops, soldiers did not intervene for two hours while the attackers shouted "Allah Akbar" and shot at villagers. The woman noted that a gun truck belonging to the Opep Task Force was seen stationed in front of a Fulani settlement during the attack, suggesting a lack of protection for the local population.

Ultimately, she lamented the loss of 20 people in the community due to the failure of the soldiers to act against the militia.
