U.S. Lawmaker Calls for Stronger Security in Nigeria

Moor described the incident as part of a troubling pattern of violence targeting worshippers during religious observances. He emphasized the need for the Nigerian government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to take decisive action to prevent further bloodshed, especially in light of upcoming religious events.

The Congressman highlighted that attacks on Christians in Nigeria have become increasingly frequent during significant religious holidays, with the recent incident occurring on March 29. Moor's remarks follow a fact-finding delegation's allegations of Christian genocide in Nigeria, underscoring the urgent need for strengthened security measures to protect vulnerable communities.

He called for a significant mobilization of security resources to defend Christians during the Easter triduum, warning of serious consequences for Nigeria's relationship with the United States if these issues are not addressed.
