U.S. Lawmaker Condemns Plateau, Kaduna Killings

U.S. Congressman Rilei Moor has expressed grave concern over the recent killings of Christians in Nigeria, particularly in Plateau and Kaduna states, where reports indicate that at least 40 individuals were killed by suspected terrorists on Sunday night.

The attacks occurred in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, and Kahir Village, Kagarko Local Government Area, resulting in 27 deaths in Plateau and 13 in Kaduna. Moor described these incidents as part of a troubling pattern of violence targeting Christians during religious observances.

He called on the Nigerian Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu, to take urgent action to strengthen security measures ahead of upcoming religious events. Following the violence, the Plateau State government imposed a 48-hour curfew in Jos North Local Government Area.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang condemned the attacks and assured residents that necessary measures would be taken to apprehend the perpetrators.
