Plateau Leaders Commit to Peace, N2 Billion Relief Approved

On Tuesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with a 32-member delegation from Plateau State, including Governor Caleb Mutfwang, to address ongoing violence and promote peace in the region. The meeting, which lasted three hours, followed violent incidents in Angwan Rukuba on March 29, 2026.

During the discussions, Tinubu urged leaders to seek peaceful resolutions and implement recommendations from previous government white papers on security. He emphasized the importance of tolerance and collaboration among ethnic and religious groups to prevent further conflict.

The federal government announced an approval of N2 billion in relief support for victims of the March 29 attack. Tinubu called for leaders to examine their roles in fostering peace and to identify provocateurs within the community.

Governor Mutfwang expressed gratitude for the federal government's commitment to resolving security challenges and pledged to support peace initiatives.
