Tinubu Orders Security Measures After Angwan Rukuba Killings

On Thursday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with Plateau stakeholders in Jos following the deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba. During the meeting, he ordered the implementation of tough security measures to prevent further violence.

Tinubu addressed traditional rulers, political leaders, and security chiefs, expressing the government's commitment to establishing peace and addressing the root causes of violence, including poverty and hopelessness. He praised the efforts of the armed forces and police in identifying and apprehending the perpetrators of the recent attack.

The President announced immediate federal intervention, including the deployment of technology-driven surveillance systems and the installation of CCTV cameras to assist law enforcement. Governor Caleb Mutfwang expressed gratitude for Tinubu's swift response and highlighted the need for unity among Plateau leaders to overcome the state's long-standing security challenges.

Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu ordered the deployment of 850 troops to reinforce ongoing operations aimed at restoring peace and protecting civilians in volatile communities.
