Jang Rejects New PDP Faction in Plateau State Crisis

Jonah David Jang, the former governor of Plateau State, has publicly rejected a new faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) led by Chief Raymond Dabo. This rejection follows a recent congress that resulted in the election of Peter Tongshep as the new state chairman, which Jang described as a "kangaroo exercise" orchestrated by self-seeking individuals in collaboration with external undemocratic forces aimed at discrediting the party.

Jang stressed that the state working committee (SWC) led by Chief Dabo was improperly organized and that the congress was not conducted in compliance with PDP's constitution or monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He declared the actions taken during this congress as null and void.

Jang acknowledged ongoing challenges at the national level for the PDP and called for genuine party members across Plateau to remain steadfast and united, urging them to focus on constructive resolutions rather than divisive actions.
