Plateau State Eases Curfew in Jos North Amid Security Gains

The Plateau State Government has announced a relaxation of the curfew previously imposed on Jos North Local Government Area, effective April 1, 2026. The curfew, which was initially declared for 48 hours, will now allow residents to engage in normal activities from 7 AM to 3 PM daily.

Joyc Ramnap, a spokesperson for the government, noted that this adjustment follows a period of relative calm after violent attacks in the Angwan Rukuba area, which resulted in at least 28 fatalities. The announcement was made by the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, who urged residents to remain calm and vigilant while adhering to the law.

Security agencies will continue to monitor the situation closely. The government reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state, commending public cooperation during the enforcement of the curfew.
