Ijebu Seeks Forgiveness After Ogogo's Passing

Amokade Olatayo, popularly known as Ijebu, made a heartfelt public plea for forgiveness on Instagram on August 24, 2026, following the death of his colleague Taiwo Hassan, known as Ogogo. Hassan passed away on August 23, 2026, at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer.

Ijebu's emotional video addressed everyone he may have wronged, both within and outside the Nigerian film industry, reflecting on life and mortality. He expressed a deep sense of grief and heaviness, stating he had been awake since 6 a.m. and could not shake the feeling.

His message was directed towards family members, industry bosses, younger colleagues, and others, emphasizing a desire to mend relationships before it is too late. The video gained significant attention as the Nollywood community mourned the loss of Ogogo, a beloved veteran actor.

Dele Odule, a close friend of Ogogo, was also seen in tears during the burial ceremony, further highlighting the emotional impact of the loss within the industry.
